5 Rainy Day Activities for Indoor Recess

We’ve all been there. It’s raining, it’s pouring…and you need to do indoor recess. Now, some teachers might resort to such classics as hangman or heads up 7-up, or just give free time, but you’re a World Class Educator – right?

Here you will find 5 rainy day activities for indoor recess:

1. Last Player Standing

Last Player Standing is a multiplayer dice game based on boxing aimed at grades 1-8.

This board game requires rolling 2 dice to try and roll a pre-selected “Knock Out” number to remove opponents from the ring.

2. Baseball

Baseball is a two player or 2 team dice game based on the regular rules of baseball except the hitter rolls dice. The game is aimed at grades 2-8.

3. Box Me In

Box Me In is a game where players take turns drawing a line between dots and get points when their line forms a square. It is a quiet game that requires only a crayon for drawing the lines.

Box Me In can be played at any age but this game board was designed with younger children in mind. It is appropriate for grades 1-8.

4. You Can’t Beat Me

You Can’t Beat Me is a multiplayer dice game for 2-4 players, grades 2-8. This board game requires rolling 3 dice and lining up the dice to form the highest number. For example, rolling a 2, 6, and 4 would be 642.

5. 5 to the Sky

5 to the Sky can be played as a multiplayer dice game with 2-4 players in primary grades. This board game requires rolling 2 dice. It also helps with learning to count by 5’s.
